Join us for a Race and Family Fun Day to raise awareness about stroke prevention and what to do if someone is having a stroke. Time is Brain and every minute counts! All proceeds from this Race and Family Day will go to the NARA Stroke Support Group
The "Run For Your Brain 5k and Family Fun Run" is designed to get families together while having fun being active and learning how to live a healthier lifestyle every day.
Through the race, our goal is to educate people about their risk factors and how to prevent a stroke from devastating your life or the life of someone you love, while supporting Nortwest Alabama Reading Aides (NARA).
NARA provides free tutoring in reading, writing and English language skills to adults who have suffered a stroke in Colbert, Franklin and Lauderdale Counties. NARA also offers stroke support groups to stroke victims.

Location: North Alabama Medical Center (New Hospital)
Starting Time: 9am – 5k
10am- 1mile fun run
Registration and Packet pickup: All packet pick up will take place the morning of the race from 7:30- 8:45am.
Race Day registration ends at 8:30am
Cost: 5k is $20.00 and 1 mile is $10.00 if registered by October 18th.
Race day registration will be $25.00 for the 5k and $10.00 for the 1 mile.
Course: Both races will start and finish at the new North Alabama Medical Center
Awards:
Each winner of the age groups will win an award.
Age groups as follows for the 5k: 6-9 16-19 40-49 10-12 20-29 50-59 13-15 30-39 60+
Chip timing for 5k by Solid Rock Race Timing.
T-shirts: All participants who register by October 1st for the 5k will be guaranteed a t-shirt.
No t-shirts are guaranteed for runners who do not preregister.
Our stroke survivors will start off our 1 mile fun run/ walk. We want to recognize and support the stroke survivors.
The stroke survivors will have a different colored shirt as a way to recognize and acknowledge these people.
